As a member of the Catholic Church, I am appalled by the anti-Catholic statements from Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s top campaign officials. They called our faith “severely backwards,” and went further by brainstorming ways to “plant the seeds” of a revolution against the Church.

Perhaps the Clinton campaign is unaware that the Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization in the world working to fight poverty, feed the hungry, combat human trafficking and provide relief after natural disasters.

Perhaps they forgot that our nation’s Catholic schools …

Rep. Pat Tiberi is introducing a House version of Sen. Rob Portman’s bill aimed at stopping the spread of synthetic drugs.

Tiberi, R-Genoa Township, and Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., introduced a bill today that would make it more difficult for drugs such as fentanyl and carfentanil from being shipped into the United States through the U.S. postal system. The improved use of technology by Medicare and other federal health programs will be a major focus of the next session, Rep. Pat Tiberi, chairman of the Ways and Means health subcommittee, told reporters after today’s hearing on the topic.

“Innovation is occurring in the private sector, and government is trying to catch up,” said the Ohio Republican, adding that his goal is to get Medicare to expand its adoption of and payment for new technologies while improving regulation.

LIMA — U.S. Rep. Pat Tiberi, R-Worthington, participated Tuesday in a roundtable discussion with administrators of St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima/Allen County officials.
