A Message from Congressman Pat Tiberi:
I am honored and humbled to return to the United States House of Representatives to serve you. To the people of the 12th Congressional District, I say thank you. I could not have won on Election Day without your help, support and belief in me. Hundreds of volunteers clocked thousands of hours distributing literature, walking in parades, traveling on our bi-annual bus tour, making phone calls, putting up yard signs, and talking to friends and neighbors.
Over the years, my goal has never changed: to help Central Ohio residents. Succeeding in changing a Medicare rule to allow the James Cancer Hospital at The OSU Medical Center to expand and grow; helping a widow cut through the red tape and bureaucracy to receive a Social Security check; making sure a veteran receives the benefits he needs and deserves; helping parents finalize a foreign adoption; working to improve Central Ohio’s roads and airports. These are just a few examples of the incredible opportunity to help improve people's lives that you, the voters, have entrusted to me.
Building upon my vote total from the difficult 2006 election, I am truly honored that even more people voted for me and supported my ideas for governing this year. The 12th Congressional District voted overwhelmingly to elect Senator Barack Obama the next President of the United States, and while our philosophies may differ on many issues, I hope he will stay true to the words in his acceptance speech and work with Republicans and Democrats alike to get America back on track. I look forward to working with my colleagues to help address some of the pressing issues facing our nation like lowering taxes, encouraging business growth, and addressing the looming problems with Social Security and Medicare funding. Once again, I am appreciative of the support I’ve received from my friends, neighbors, and supporters in Central Ohio and I look forward to continuing to serve them.
Sincerely,
Pat Tiberi
